United Federation Starfleet is a Star Trek community based in the Virtual Metaverses of Second Life® , OSGrids®, Star Trek: Online and others.
As Admiral and Commander in Chief, it is my pleasure to welcome you to United Federation Starfleet!
United Federation Starfleet, or UFS for short, started as a dream . . . a dream to realize and bring the vision of Gene Roddenberry to life within the realm of Second Life. Here, within this 3D environment, you can become a Federation citizen, Starfleet crewmen or a commissioned officer within one of the most respected, most organized, and most active Star Trek organizations available.
Based on the planet of Pinastri in the Delta Quadrant, we have built our home with the full intention of embracing Starfleet’s original vision of peaceful exploration, scientific discovery, and finding new life and new civilizations. Colonization of the Delta Quadrant is UF Starfleet’s newest frontier. Given full autonomy by the Federation council on Stardate 060801.09 we embrace the spirit of brave explorers that have come before us and stand up to the challenge of building a new world as we grow the United Federation of planets.
UFS offers a highly organized and renown Academy, which includes a vast selection of courses that will help you learn a variety of skills and helpful information that will get you started as a contributing member within the Delta Quadrant.
Once you graduate, you can don your uniform, and become part of the Starfleet family, UFS offers a vast array of postings. You can:
· Serve at Headquarters and help with the growth and development of the UFS through your chosen Branch. · Take a posting on a station, facility, or outpost and partake in the day-to-day responsibilities of an officer assigned to one of these locations. · Be assigned to one of our Starships of the Line, where you explore the vast reaches of the Delta Quadrant, discover new life and new civilizations, and defend our home from those that would not choose freedom as a way of life.
In addition to these postings, you can also:
· Become part of Red Squad · Join volunteer groups like Mission Command and Support Services. · Assist CARE with the creation and running fun and charitable events. · Attend promotion ceremonies and other official functions. · Participate in parties and other regular social events. · Contribute or be a part of special events, like the Starfleet Beauty Pageant or our Burning Life celebration.
And much, much, much more! So, what are you waiting for? If this is your first time visiting our site, sign up with Second Life or OS Grid and join us in the Delta Quadrant. If you’ve been a member for a while, contact your Branch Head, or a member of Command to find out how else you can get involved within the group.
Don’t let this opportunity to live the life of a Starfleet officer pass you by! Reach for the stars, and help make the dream possible with the UFS – by becoming UF Starfleet strong!

The preparations for the annual Admiral’s Banquet is coming along very nicely. We filled our seating ahead of schedule and currently have a wait list of those wanting to get a seat in case of a cancellation. For those of you who were not lucky enough to get your RSVP in on time, you can celebrate the achievement of all of our officers and enlisted at Club Latinum. The banquet will be broadcast via comms, so you won’t miss out on hearing the list of award recipients.
Once the official part of the banquet has concluded this Saturday, everyone will be welcome to join us at Ceremony Hall for a night of dancing and celebration.
A special thank you goes out to the efforts of all those who helped put together the fundraiser for the people of Haiti. As you know, Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, and that small nation has been devastated by a series of major earthquakes and aftershocks. It was very encouraging to see everyone pull together to support this cause.
We also have some additional fundraising events planned for the UFS, and we will start to look into our participation within Relay for Life for this year. As you may recall, we raised over L$100,000 for RFL in the effort to find a cure for cancer and gained recognition as being a Silver Place team. Taking part in this charity not only helps a good cause, but it also helps the UFS gain exposure within the larger Second Life community. It’s also a great way for the UFS to do our part to help find a cure for the disease that has taken the life of some of our members.
If you are interested in helping with UFS fundraisers, our RFL efforts, or any other events, please contact Fleet Captain Zania Turner. Remember, your assistance will be taken into consideration when it comes time to review your file for promotions and awards.
I’d also like to take a moment to remind everyone that the deadline for submissions with the Delta Communicator is coming up, and submissions are still being accepted for the UFS Yearbook. These are two tremendous publications for the UFS, and the proceeds of the sales for the yearbook – just like with the calendars - go toward region expenses.
We are also considering, for the yearbook and the calendars, the possibility of having a real life version which you could purchase and have at your home or office. More information will be available on this once we are close to the actual publication date.
If you still would like to submit something for the Delta Communicator or the Yearbook, you can do so by contacting CYLONXD Slade.
I have created a download menu on the UFS main page. Here you will have teh ability to easy access important files like the newsletters and the UFS Press kit.
The link 'Newletter Archive' will provide you with a list of all our newsletters, while the link 'Current Newsletter' is a direct download of the latest newsletter in PDF format
Hopefully this way it will be more easy for our new members to find these items
