Captain's log, stardate 100217.1902. We have arrived in the Gildash system, our last stop in the Kyranovos sector. All scans have been fairly normal expect for the fourth planet in the system. We've picked up what appears to be the remains of a freighter on the surface of the planet, somewhere on its western continent. I have sent an away team lead by Lieutenant Meredith down to investigate and recover any possible survivors.

On stardate 100217, the USS Talisman entered the Gildash system of the Kyrannovos sector where they located a freighter down on the surface of the fourth planet. The ship's first officer Lieutenant Brandi Meredith led an away team via shuttle down to the surface to investigate. Once having landed, the away team, also consisiting of Lieutenant's Dixon and Starsider, began to investigate the remains of the freighter. While doing so, they discovered Doctor David Warfin, a renowned scientist of the Federation who had been believed to be lost in the Alpha Quadrant. The away team returned to the Talisman after briefly questioning the doctor on how he arrived in the Delta Quadrant and he was immediatley taken to sickbay. After an examination from the ship's Chief Medical Officer Lieutenant Genna Thiemen-Jayaram, Dr. Warfin was to be assiagned quarters and escorted back to Pinastri. However Dr. Warfin's true nature would soon become apparant as he managed to access a terminal and successfully circumvent the ship's security protocals and disable the navigational deflector. In addition he stole a Danube-class runabout that was loaded with an unidentified substance that he jetisoned into space and rendered the Talisman's sensors inoperable. This incident would not be the last that the crew of the Talisman would encounter with Dr. Warfin.
