Captain's Log

  • computer begins recording*

Captain's Log, stardate 110130.1251. The Talisman is en route back out on its mission of exploration. We will begin by charting sectors rimward of Pinastri IV that we did not chart last year. Thus far there are no ship's or unusual activity or anomoly's in our path. It is interesting though that long wave sensors have detected faint traces of soliton wave particles. This suggests that our old isolated friends could have been in the area. Without a closer look, that remains undetermined.

Events Summary

On stardate 110130, the USS Talisman had departed back out to continue its mission of exploration. While heading for its first sector the Talisman intercepted a general distress signal. An analysis of the signal indicated that it was originating from a ship utilized by the "soliton wave users" previously encountered the year before. The Talisman moved to aid the ship and once they arrived found the vessel under attack by the Vaadwaur. The Talisman helped the ship fight them off, and once the Vaadwuar were driven off, beamed the survivors aboard the Talisman just as their ship was about to go critical. At that point another ship emerged from a spacial anomoly, but scans were unable to identify the ship or it's origian point. The Talisman vacated the area in case more ship's were coming through and hostile. Even though the ship was lost, the aliens aboard here had been saved. The leader of the alien people was called into conference with the Talisman's senior staff where they finally revealed themselves as the Zinatai. The Zinatai's captain, In'Tek, explained that the Zinatai's isolationism was a form they used to ensure their survival, but had deemed it no longer adaquate to fulfill its function. All the Zinatai rescued were transferred to the USS Goddard and taken back to Pinastri IV to continue discussion with Pinastri Command.
