Captain's Log

  • computer begins recording*

Captain's Log, stardate 100113.1238. We have had no success thus far in locating Commander Randt or Lt. Commander Meredith aboard teh shuttle El Tajin. Both science departments on Tranquility and the Talisman are working tirelessly to pinpoint exactly where that shuttle and the stolen one ended up. The minor damage that we did sustained has been repaired and the Talisman is fully operational and ready to leave as soon as the location of the El Tajin has been determined. We are also working to try and determine who exactly was behind the theft of the Bio-Memetic gel that was stolen out of Tranquility's sickbay. The only thing we know for sure is that this riddle must be solved immediatley if we are to locate the missing commander's and recover the stolen gel.

Events Summary

On stardate 110112, Commander Kinney Randt and Lt. Commander Brandi Meredith were both lost when a spacial rupture pulled their shuttlecraft into itself as it closed. As a result, both the crews of the USS Talisman and SS Tranquility worked to locate where the rift came out. Unable to do so, the decision was made to travel through the rift to recover the missing commander's. With modifications made to a photon torpedo and preperations from Lt. Phoenix Finistair to reinforce the rupture and keep it from expanding, the Talisman re-opened the spacial rupture and mades its way to the other side in hopes to locate the missing shuttlecraft. Once on the other side, the Talisman was confronted by a Vaadwuara warship that had claimed to be holding Commander's Randt and Meredith on the charges of tresspassing and assault. Lt. Commander Jackson T. Jayaram stalled the warship off for a short time to give both crew's time to develop a plan.

After the initial attempt at diplomacy failed, the Talisman was forced into a firefight with the Vaadwuara. While the Talisman did take some damage due to the damage caused by the rupture, they were able to fend off teh attack and disable the warship. Once the warship's shields were taken down, both Commanders Randt and Meredith were beamed directly to sickbay where Dr. Genna Thiemen-Jayaram had already made preperations to treat them. The stolen Bio-Memetic gel was also retrieved and cautiously stored. With all objectives complete, the Talisman made the previous adjusments and returned to the Pinastri System with only minor damage and slight casualties.

Commander Kinney Randt suffered some unusual side effects as a result of traveling through the spacial rupture. Despite his interal organs and vital signs registering as perfectly normal, his outer appearance had aged approximatley 40 years. Lt. Commander Meredith sustained more severe injuries, suffering from severe radiation poisoning. Commander Meredith was held over in sickbay for several days to recouperate while Commander Randt was released. Both officer's recovered from the incident.
