An assignment in the Fleet Security Division will result in one of the following three key positions:
Duty is to ensure the safety of ship and crew as well as its defence. Some also take it as their personal duty to protect the Commanding Officer/Executive Officer on away teams. They are ultimately responsible for people under arrest and the safety of guests. They are also a department head and therefore a member of the ships senior staff, responsible for all the crew members in her/his department and duty rosters.
There are several Security Officers aboard each ship. They are assigned to their duties by the Chief Security Officer and mostly guard sensitive areas, protect personnel and guests, carry out patrols, and handle other threats to the UFS.
Tactical Officers are the ships gunmen. They assist the Chief Security Officer by running and maintaining the numerous weapons systems aboard the ship, and analysis and tactical planning of current missions. Very often Tactical Officers will be trained in ground combat and small unit tactics.
