Biography
At a very young age, Jean was one of a group of infants subjected to experimental genetic therapy treatments by a scientific reasearch institution. All of the other children in the experimental group, but Jean, died as a result of the treatments. After an attack on the institution by those who oppsed the treatments, Jean was rescued by a facility worker named Marret. After nurtuting back to health, Jean was adopted by Lizbeth and Jax Hema. The rest of his youth and his adolescence were relatively normal. He grew up unaware of his origins, and believing that his foster parents were his birth parents. At the age of 18, Jean left home rather abruptly to join Starfleet Academy in San Francisco. Although Jean failed to gain entry on his first attempt, he succeeded in his second attempt. Subsequently, Jean became one of the most outstanding cadets in his class.

During his time in the academy, Jean studied various different courses. These included, Tactical Analysis, Transporter Theory, Stellar Cartography, Survival Strategies, Inter species Protocol, Early Starfleet History and Earth History. Jean took a particular interest in Earth History, specifically the late 20th Century/Early 21st. While a cadet, Jean competed in the Starfleet Academy Marathon on Danula II, he placed 7th in 2383, 12th in 2384 and 2nd in 2385. In 2386 Jean graduated Starfleet Academy with a Major in Astrophysics. Jeans hobbies include listening to 20th/21st Century Music, he has a extensive collection of music from this time period.
