With the USS Republic trapped in the Triangulum Galaxy and the Pax Magellanic embroiled in a dangerous civil war. The crew quickly learn that not all is what it seems when things finally come full circle.
As the Republic faces off against the colossal Wisp Worldship, determined to wipe the remaining Pax Magellanic who stand against their conquest of the Milky Way, the crew learn a terrible secret upon examination of Lieutenant Commander Yato Jinn's mind who was brainwashed to betray the crew. The Federation's most secret organisation, Section 31 is being manipulated and influenced, used simply as a tool by the Pax Magellanic in their brutal civil war.
It is also learned that Yato, under the manipulation of Section 31 was responsible for both the destruction of SS Pegasus and the USS Colossus as well as the murder of the Asgard Ambassador who oversaw the new Hyperdrive installation on the Republic.
Upon learning that the Worldship is key to the power of the Pax Magellanic, the Republic realises that now is the hour of their greatest triumph. They must put an end to this conspiracy once and for all. Will they return home the silent victors, or as a broken hull?
Events
The Crew awoke to find the USS Republic under serious attack from the Pax Magellanic World-ship which seemed to be one giant vessel, the size of a planet. Observing Brigadier Wolfbite Funizza was injured seriously from the explosion of the Photon Grenade and with the ships physicians already occupied by the casualties of the attack, it feel to Strategic Operations Officer Jean Hema to carry the injured Brigadier down to sickbay and bind his wounds.
Lieutenant Commander Yato Jinn was also injured in the attack and Commander D'Deridex Orici ordered that he should be taken to the brig to receive treatment. Both Chief Engineer Luna Republic and Chief Science Officer Shon Tempest believed that Commander Jinn had succumbed to some alien influence. Chief Science Officer Tempest also discovered a small localised subspace fold, similar to take of the "wormhole" technology used by the Pax to enter the Milky Way Galaxy were emanating from the World-ship.
The World-ship charged it main weapons which included devastating technologies never witnessed before, which damaged the Republic causing her to retreat into a stars corona by modifying the shields to a metaphasic modulation. However the Republic's shields were not designed to operate for long periods of time under constant bombardment by radiation and failure was imminent in 30 minutes.
Brigadier Funniza awoke from his injuries, causing a disruption to sickbay when he refused to let doctors treat him, he was eventually talked down by Chief of Security, Ensign Stormy Nightfire and taken back to his bed. Mr Hema scanned Yato's brain and found that he had been the product of curative brainwashing by Section 31, most probably when the Republic first returned to Pinastri, over three months ago. He also found an "alien" chip which had been operating on the same frequency that the Pax Magellanic use to communicate. Jean was able to put the pieces together and discover the Yato had been behind all the recent disasters to affect the Republic, the destruction of Pegasus Space Station, the USS Colossus and the murder of the Asgard Ambassador.
This was extreamly shocking and taxing for Yato who had been unaware of his actions, acting as a sleeper agent. Jean was forced to conclude that the Pax Magellanic had breached Section 31 and had been giving Yato instructions subconsciously ever since.
Meanwhile, the Republic was contacted by a rogue Pax called Xenos, who stated he was from a rebel faction and that the Pax were in state of Civil War in the Triangulum Galaxy. He explained that Emporer Veknas, supreme rules of the Pax had become blinded by the status of his race as energy beings and wanted to consume other galaxies as well... they had waged war for many years, even against the mighty Borg Collective. Xenos also suggest the their were Chroniton Warheads which had been designed by the Empire Dominated Section 31 to attempt to destroy the Rebels once and for all, who were unable to die due to their status as Energy Beings.
The Republic was able to find this devices and install them into probes. Xenos suggested that although he did not authorise such a weapon, Yato had placed them there under his suggestion so that he could contact the Republic with this information. He suggested that he was ready to end the war once and for all and the Republic attacked the World-ship with as much as they could possibly muster, which brought down a shield facing, causing Commander Orici to order a Chroniton strike on the World-ship.
Within seconds, trillions of Pax Magellanic were dead and unable to remain as a presence in this universe. Ensign Tempest suggested that this might be because the Pax existed outside of normal space time and the World-ship gave them the means to enter our universe and our galaxy.
The wormhole began to collapse and the Republic fled back to the Milkyway, but not before both new sets of warp coils exploded due to high a warp factor. The Republic could rest easy that the Pax had been sealed away and awaited a tow by the SS Helmut Kohl
