UFS Mess Dress Uniforms

Every member of UFS is issued a dress uniform. Some officers may have a uniform specifically designed for mess-dress situations. These uniforms are to be worn during very formal functions, such as weddings or funeral services or when announced in advance. This uniform may not be worn to regular duty functions or to less formal events where a Class B dress uniform is appropriate. As a general rule these uniforms would be worn when it is appropriate to wear a tuxedo or evening clothes.

UFS Light Combat Uniforms

Officers in UFS are issued an official Light Combat uniform. This uniform is to be worn when the situation is or might be hazardous. Often times this is worn during battle situations or during dangerous away team missions. These uniforms have an armor coating that protects the upper portion of the body, while employing other protective measures built-in to the fabric. These may be worn during regular duty hours if the situation might become dangerous.

  • The full uniform must be worn by men and women. No skirts may be worn with this uniform.
  • Accessories like phasers or tricorders are allowed.
  • Dress Uniform swords may not be worn with this uniform.<br\>

UFS Hazard Team Uniforms

The official hazard team uniforms are distributed to UFS Hazard Team members. These uniforms are distributed according to appropriate department/branch colors of the individual.

How the uniform is to be worn

  • The full uniform must be worn.
    • No skirts may be worn with this uniform.
  • Accessories are accepted as per the UFS Hazard Team Operations CO permits.
    • These accessories should be related to the duties of your particular Hazard Team role. A medical officer serving in Hazard duty would probably wear a tricorder with their choice of appropriate weapons.
  • All officers MUST wear the appropriate department color pertaining to their current department in the group. An officer in the Medical branch would wear a BLUE undershirt.
  • Only official Hazard Team members may wear this uniform.<br\>

When the uniform may NOT be worn

  • During official formal functions
  • During official semi-formal functions
  • During Project Magellan missions which require covert operations
  • When the situation is not specifically requiring full hazard armor and gear.
    • This is when you should wear the light combat uniforms instead.
  • During UFSA Classes<br\>

UFS Enlisted Officers, NCOs, and Recruits

Enlisted members will wear the UFS Cadet uniform until a Branch is chosen for their career path. Once a recruit has been assigned to a division, they may get the appropriate Enlisted uniform from the supply deck that denotes their division. NCO's (or Non-Commissioned Officers) are allowed to wear the official UFS officer's uniforms. The NCO ranks start at Petty Officer 3rd Class for Fleet officers and Corporal for those in the Marines.
