About the Ship

We are the U.S.S. Prophetic. We are a Prophetic class vessel stationed in the Gamma Quadrant, operating out of our Port of Call, S.S. Astraios. S.S. Astraios is located on the border of the Takaar Nebula and our main subspace channel is codename "3rd Rock Grid."

History

Like the previous incarnation of the USS Prophetic, a Steamrunner Class starship, the Prophetic Class was born out of necessity. The Steamrunner Class had passed her expected service life by more than 20 years. In that time, Starfleet had yet to find an adequate replacement for the multi-role starships so the call went out to the fleet yards of the United Federation of Planets for a new, small vessel, capable of adapting to multiple roles, to supplement the class.

Only one design was submitted to Starfleet. Her contemporaries have been in production for a few years under different contracts; the Zephyr and Armitage Class vessels were among those used elsewhere in Starfleet. The design for the Prophetic Project was awarded to the Astraios Shipyards in late 2412, and the prefix of NX-85650 was assigned to the project.

The Prophetic class is scheduled to be launched in mid 2412 and to be quickly slipped into the role of expeditionary force, deploying 12 Kaneda Space Superiority Mark-Ii fighters and 6 Kaneda Space Superiority Mk-II-A bombers, as well as 4 St. John's Class runabouts in support of the strategic security of the Federation in the Astraios Sector. Equipped with modest scientific resources and diplomatic facilities, the Prophetic is intended to be a capable stand-alone deep space vessel.
